    Crusaders Lay Seige to Antioch

    The governor of the city, Yaghi-Siyan, knew that the Crusaders would reach them and had begun stockpiling food. The seige lasted 226 days, ranging from the 21st of October 1097 to the 3rd of June 1098.
  • Jul 15, 1099

    Crusaders Take Jerusalem

    The final push to the siege of Jerusalem. Godfrey was declared the King of Jerusalem.

    The Third Crusade

    Treaty between King Richard and Saladin

    King Richard the First of England and Saladin, the Sultan of Egypt and Syria, sign a treaty, ending the Third Crusade. Richard returns to England.
  • Mar 3, 1193

    Saladin Dies

    Despite the death of the Sultan, his advisors allowed the peace treaty to remain in place well into the 13th Century.

    Crusaders Displace Alexius the Third

    The citizens of Constantinople turn against Alexius the Third after the Crusaders set fire to the city.

    The Children's Crusades

    Led by a young man named Nicholas from Cologne, the Children's Crusades were made up of children, adolescents, women, the elderly, and the poor who believed they would rescue Jerusalem.

    In fear of the Crusaders, the Muslims offered some peace terms which included the cessation of Jerusalem as well as the return of the True Cross.

    Robert of Artois Attacks Egyptian Camp

    Leading a surprise attack against an Egyptian Camp, Robert of Artois gets his troops stuck behind enemy lines, killing many of his troops.
  • 1291

    Acre Besieged

    The last crusader stronghold on the mainland is besieged.The city was taken over by the Mamlūks and the citizens were enslaved.
