    Christopher Columbus and the exploration movement
    Christopher Columbus was an Italian explorer who ended up in the Bahamas. The significance of this event is that once Columbus went back to Spain and told the King and Queen about the " New World", this opened the door for mass exploration, colonization, and exploitation of the Americas. This event of new exploration took place in both Northern and Southern America which is on the western part of the globe.

    King Henry the 8th was a king of England who is known for having six wives. Because of the Catholic Church's religious beliefs, they would not allow Henry to divorce his first wife, so Henry created his own church so that he could do so. This action of King Henry is one of the many events that contributed to the Protestant Reformation all across Europe. This event took place in England.

    Martin Luther
    Martin Luther was a Monk who advocated for the ideology that lives on today in Christian teachings: that Human beings who are sinners can have salvation through faith in Jesus Christ rather than through physical works. He also published a document called the 95 Theses, which called people to reform and Criticized the Roman Catholic Church. This is significant because his advocacy played a major part in the Protestant Reformation, which took place within Europe.

    The Protestant Revolution was an era within Europe that lasted for about 100 years. This era led to the breakdown of the Roman Catholic Church and caused new sectors of protestism to emerge like Lutheranism and Calvinism. Overall this event changed the way religion was originally shaped in Europe and changed leadership roles as well which later led to a series of wars.

His significance to this unit is that he is one of the most remembered absolutist rulers during this period in Europe and is remembered for being a dictator who would instill fear during his reign, to the people of Russia. This Event took place within Russia.

    Elizabeth the First becomes Queen
    Elizabeth the First became queen of England shortly after the death of her father and a civil war involving her sister Mary the First. This event is significant to history because Queen Elizabeth I won the war against her sister Mary I which not only made her queen but allowed her and all of England to return to Protestantism during the period of the Protestant Reformation in England. Her being Queen also led England in a better direction for years to come. The Queen's reign began in England.

    The Wars of Religion are a series of wars that took place between the Catholics and Protestants. These wars took place due to the outlawing of protestant Worship and overall led to a power struggle for political power and also disrupted religious order throughout Europe as well. This series of wars took place within the kingdom of France.

    Gunpowder weapons are introduced in Japan
    Gunpowder weapons were first brought to Japan through trade and were often used as a weapon by Japanese Samurai. The Significance of this event is that not only does this tool show the influence that European trade had on Japan but it also changed the way that warfare took place within Japan given that Guns are more powerful than Swords. This event took place in Japan.

    During this point in Japanese history, Europeans were forced out of Japan, and because of this Europeans set their eyes on trade with China instead. The significance of this event was that European missionaries were sent out of Japan due to their conflicting religious beliefs and this overall affected Japan's trade with Europe for a few years. This event took place in Japan.

    The Triangular trade involved the mass slavery event in which Europeans would tear African people from their culture and homes to become forced laborers for people in the Americas to benefit wealth from. This is significant to history because it marks the start of the 400-year slave labor and abuse system that took place within Europe and the Americas. The Triangular trade route occurred across Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
  • Conflict between the "Sunni" Ottoman Empire and the "Shia" Safavid Empire.

    Conflict between the  "Sunni" Ottoman Empire and the "Shia" Safavid Empire.
    The Conflict between these two empires mainly sprouts from the fact that they both had different religious beliefs. The importance of this conflict is that because of their differential beliefs of Islam, this ultimately caused a war over land control between the 2 empires that lasted from 1623 to 1639. This event took place in modern-day Iraq territory.

    The Decline of the Ming Dynasty
    The Ming Dynasty was an empire that is remembered for its maritime exploration, flourishing of the Great Wall, and expansion of rule to places like Korea and Vietnam.
    The importance of the fall of this empire is that it fell due to a decline in trade, peasant rebellion, government corruption, and attacks from neighboring empires. This fall also led to the largest empire in Chinese history known as the Qing dynasty which was created by The Manchus. This event took place in present-day China.

    The Toleration Act was an act that was signed by King William III and allowed the worship of other religions like the Puritans. ( Not the Catholic, however). This was very important because this Act was one of the main events that helped bring the Protestant Reformation to an end. This event took place In England.

    The English Bill of Rights was a document that was signed by King William III and Queen Mary II. This document restricted the rights of the monarchy which was important for England, especially after very absolutist times within Europe, and gave more power to the parliament and better rights to its citizens. This event took place in England.

    The Scientific Revolution was a time in which newfound scientific beliefs challenged common world beliefs. This era is significant to history because it was the first time people started to question the world around them due to the breakup of the Catholic Church in Europe. A discovery from this revolution was the heliocentric theory.

    The Enlightenment Revolution was an era that emphasized reason and individualism within society rather than tradition. This event is important because this movement brought secular idealism to Europe and encouraged life, liberty, individual rights, and Property. This event is also important because it helped move Europe forward in a more individualistic way after years of not being so Individualistic. This event took place throughout Europe.

    Emperor Kangxi
    Kangxi was an emperor of the Qing Dynasty from 1662 to 1722. He is known for being one of the best rulers who helped China in Trade, expanding control to places like Taiwan, Xinjiang, and Tibet. He was such a good leader in fact that when he died, the Qing dynasty started to fall apart. His reign took place in China.

    Around the late 1700s, Europe was China's most dominant trading partner. This trade connection had a big impact on China's people because while China was shipping out tea and silk to England, England was importing Opium into China which soon had many Chinese people addicted and made England an even more prominent trade partner and influence within China. This event took place in Chinese and English lands.

    The French Revolution sprouted from many people being upset with King Louis XVI due to debt from the Revolutionary War and Spending, so they beheaded him as a result and tried to start their own republic. The Importance of the Revolution was that it was the turning point in France's history and led to a man named Napoleon becoming the leader of France and turning France from an absolute monarchy into a military dictatorship state. This event took place in France.

    The fall of Napoleon mainly began first when the russians had defeated the French military. The Importance of this event is that soon after these napoleanic wars took place and after Napoelean's exile, this led to a massive change in Europe such as the Industrial Revolution. This event took place mainly within Northern France.
