Period: to
THE FIRST GENERATION
This first generation of computers used vacuum tubes as circuits and magnetic drums for memory. The vacuum tube was developed by Lee DeForest. They were very expensive and generated a lof of heat. -
Period: to
THE SECOND GENERATION
The second generation of cimouters emerged with the development of transitors.Transitor was made up by three scientists J.Bardeen, H.W.Brattain and W.Shockley. It made them faster, smaller and cheaper. -
Period: to
THE THIRD GENERATION
The third generation emerged with the development of IC(Integrated Circuits). -
Period: to
THE FOURTH GENERATION
The fourth generation computers were an extension of third generation technology. The fourth generation emerged with the development of the VLSI(Very Large Scale Integration). They were the cheapest among all the computers generation. -
Period: to
THE FIFTH GENERATION
The fifth generation are in developmental stage based on the artificial intellligence. -
Period: to
THE SIXTH GENERATION
The sixth generation is different from the other generation in size, this computers are smaller, and also in processing speed. They have the ability to perform complex tasks.
