  • The beginning of our modern day computers

    The Hewwlett-Packard is the product that has contributed to our modern day computers. It was made byDavid Packard and Bill Hewlett. One of the first uses of this machine was the sound effects of Walt Disney's "Fantasia" movie.
  • The ABC

    The Atanasoff-Berry Computer (ABC) was built by Professor John Vincent Atanasoff and graduate student Cliff Berry. They recieved funds to build it, and was built at Iowa State College (University).
  • Pilot ACE

    Pilot ACE: Donald Watts Davie joins Alan Turing to build the fastest digital computer in England at the time, the Pilot ACE.
  • EMRA and MICR

    First bank industry computer (MICR-magnetic ink character recognition, for reading checks)
  • Storage

    Virtual memory was made, by a team at the University of Manchester. This allowed a computer to switch from program to program faster

  • The computers on th move

    Adam Osborne completed the first portable computer 1, which wieghed 24 pds. and cost 1,795. It included software worth about 1,500, had a 5in display, 64 kilyobytes of memory, a modem, and two 5 1/4 floppy disc drives.
  • Macintosh

    The first succesful mouse-driven computer with a graphic user interface. It had a 1.5 million commercial during the 1984 Super Bowl.
  • The Amiga

    The Amiga 1000 was released, it sold for $1,295, it had sound and video capabilities beyond the computers that were out at the time.
  • Grahpics and Games

    Video Toaster was introduced by NewTek. The Video Toaster wwas a video editing and production system for the Amiga line of computers and included custom hardware and special software.
  • Graphics

    "Terminator 2 Judgement Day" was realeased. It featured ground breaking special affects, and was the most expensive movie made at the time.
  • GX500

    Asus is coming out with its new laptop GX500. It's the latest Republic of Gamers model. Only 0.75 inchs, unites a to-tier quad-coreintel prcessor with the lates Nvidia GeForce GTX 860M graphics.
  • Glasses!

    Google Glasses are a augmented reality head-mounted display development program by Google. It would display information in smartphone-like format hands-free, and could interact with the internet via natural language.
  • Leap Motion

    Leap Motion prsents an entirely new way to interact with your computers. Its a mouse, a keyboard, and more sensitive than a touch screen. You can control a computer in three dimensions with your natural hand and finger movements.
