The Abacus is invented
The actual date for this is 3000 AD. It was invented Babylonia and I believe it to be a great milestone because it was the beginning of a great journey for the computer to be made. -

Major Milestones

First Typewriter
In 1829 William Austin Burt invented the first typewriter. It wasn't the best typewriter and was quite slopy, but I feel it is still a great accomplishment, that it opened the eyes of many others to improve upon it and that it deserves to be on this time line. -
Electric Typewriter
This is another great accomplishment and shows how others were building upon the inventions of those before them; even though it took over a hundred years for it to happen. -
ABC Completed
The ABC was the Atanasoff-Berry Computer which was a mojor movement forward with computers. John Vincent Atanasoff and Cliff Berry were the creators of the ABC. This is considered by some to be the first ever computer and sparked many other ideas for computers to come. This is a milestone because of the fact that it is probably the first computer. -
LEO Made
Lyons Electronic Office (LEO) was the first buisness computer. To me this is a big deal because now buisnesses are packed with computers and this was kind of the starting place for that. Although it would have been done eventually I feel this needs to be on the time line because it of all the people that use it and have used it. It was something that really affected a lot of lives. -
First Computer Game
In 1942 the first computer game, Spacewar Computer Game was created by Steve Russell & MIT. This is a major accomplishment and is very exciting. Now there are millions of different computer games. I feel it should be here because of the spark that was created from it. So many things have been made after this one and that is really cool. -
Microsoft Created
On April 4th, 1975 Bill Gates and Paul Allen created the beginning of Microsoft. This has grown incredibly over the years and is now a huge organization as is used everywhere. It should be on this time line because of the growth it has had and the affect it has on our lives now and what it had on them in the past. -
The Internet
In 1990 Tim Berners-Lee and Robert Cailliau came up with the idea of the Internet. This is now something that has grwon and grown and still continues to grow daily. This definatly belongs as a major milestone because of the major effects that it had and continues to have in our lives. -
Google Created
In 1998 so many different things happened that changed computers and the things on them. But this in particular is very big. Sergey Brin and Larry Page founded what is now used daily by millions all over the world. This search engine has helped so many and is a major advancment to know that we could control all these different things. I feel it needs to be included because it is used daily and is to me a great achievement that we can type one word and get thousands of options. -
iPad Released
On January 27, 20110 Apple released its first iPad. Since then iPad has grown and still keeps growing. This definatly needs to be a milestone because this was probably the first handheld, touchscreen, music, app, computer of its kind. It is something that has inspired so many other inventions that wow me every time.
