The korean War
the Korean war was a war between North Korea and South Korea. When the North Koreans crossed the 38th parallel between North and South Korea, then war began. At the demilitarized zone, this is the place where is a line and one side is north and the other south, the gaurds will watch each other to see if they cross the line. If they do then they will be shot. During the Korean war, The landing at Inchon was a tide chager and gave the U.S. the upper-hand. -

Later after to U.S. destroyers got blown up by Viet Cong torpedos, the United States created the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution to give president Johnson unlimited power to protect military forces in responce to the torpedo attack on U.S. waters. -

The Cuban Misile Crisis was when the Soviets put nukes in Cuba aimed at the U.S. The U.S. put Missiles in Turkey and greece aimed at Russia. So they came to an agreement to take missile out of Cuba, Greece, and Turkey. During the Cuban Missile crisis, the U.S. tried to invade cuba at the Bay of Pigs which was a public beach, so the cuban military came quickly so the invasion was unsucessful. Fidel Castro was the prime minister of cuba and welcomed the soviets when they put nukes in cuba. -
