    A race to get to the moon. It was between the USA and USSR. Exploring space was a huge competition.

    The second meeting of Franklin D. Roosevelt, Joseph Stalin, and Winston Churchill in wartime. The three made plans for after the war during this meeting. They also decided to demand that Germany surrender.

    A meeting in which Germany was formally divided into four zones along with the capital of Berlin. It divided Korea into two. The border of Russia and Poland was also determined.

    A wall that existed until 1989. It was destroyed by construction. It was built to separate Berlin.

    Cuban Missile Crisis
    A standoff or confrontation between the two cold war superpowers that lasted for 13 days. JFK blockaded Cuba and threatened military force to neutralize the threat to national security. It ended in missiles being removed from Cuba (and Turkey secretly).

    Cold war tensions spark a conflict in Vietnam. The north and guerrillas invade the south. This leads to Vietnam becoming communist.
