    The Potsdam Conference was the last meeting of World War ll. Churchill and Stalin issued a declaration demanding unconditional surrender from Japan. The Conference centered on postwar Europe. The council of Foreign Ministers was agreed upon, with membership from the Big Three, China and France. The administration of Germany was established, also with a central Allied Control Council.

    At the end of World War ll, allied powers held a peace conferences at Potsdam and Yalta figured out how they would divide up Germany's territories into 4 sections. They gave eastern part to the Soviets and the western part to the United States and Great Britain. They agreed to cede a small part the the territories to France. Instead of retreating from West Berlin, the U.S and their allies decided to supply their sectors of the city to the air and carried about 2.3 million tons of cargo to them.

After the war, nations of Europe struggled to rebuild their economies and ensure their security.

After World War ll, Germany was divided into 4 zones. The arrangement was supposed to be temporary, but after a while the decision was made for it to be permanent.

    The Soviets was at a test site in Kazakhstan when they detonates its first atomic bomb, coded by the name ¨First Lightning¨. The Soviets had scientists that constructed buildings, bridges, and other structures to measure the effects of their bomb. They had also placed animals in cages close by so they could test the effects of nuclear radiation on human like mammals. The atomic had destroyed three structures and killed all of the animals.

    The Warsaw Pact was a political and military alliances established between the Soviets and many other European countries. The Soviets formed the alliance as a counterbalance to the NATO. When the Federal Republic of Germany entered NATO. The Soviets feared the consequences of the strengthened NATO and a rearmed West Germany and hoped that the Warsaw Treaty Organization could both contain West Germany.
