Technological Advances
There were many great technological change. Inventors and military men made new types of weapons, such as the repeating rifle and the submarine, that changed the way that wars were fought. Conclusion (its a stretch)
Therefore, the Civil War did not start reconstruction but rather stalled it. This can be similar to the treaty of versailles, It is thought of as the document that ended wwi while, now wae can look back ansd see it just stalled the fighting for twelve years before it picked up again. The civil war did essentially the same thing. Reconstruction after the war failled, making ther civil rights movment the reconstruction which shows ther civil war was just the start of a break.
