    a feud between the French and British began in north america over the Ohio River Valley. George Washington was sent by governor Dinwiddie to tell the french to leave. The French lost the territory to the colonists even though the French owned it first.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    Following the French and Indian war, the British parliament establishes a border aligned with the Appellation Mountains that separated the colonists from the unhappy natives in the west. In order to keep the dept from the war down the colonists were not allowed to cross the line.

    The sugar act was when the British put a 3 cent tax on sugar. This made the colonists angry because they had no representation in the government. The colonists refused to buy sugar.

    The British wanted to show they had the power so they made the stamp act. The stamp act was when the brutish put a stamp on paper, documents, and playing cards to show they payed tax. The colonists were not happy about this,they tortured the tax collectors and sometimes they killed them.

    The Townshend Acts placed tax on items imported from england, such as tea, paper, glass, and paint. The colonists boycotted these items and made them by themselves.

    A few colonists were throwing snow balls at a British soldier. more soldiers came over and the colonists started hitting the soldiers with clubs. The soldiers fired and killed some of the colonists.

    The Committees of Correspondence was created by Samual Adoms. It helped keep the colonies connected. The colonists would share news about the unfair policies.

    The British put tax on tea, and the colonists were only allowed to by English tea. This angered the colonists and they refused to by the tea. Some of the colonists dressed as Indians and went on the ships and dumped the tea.

    The English government was furious about the Boston Tea Party so they made the Coercive Acts to punish the Colonists. The British stopped importing stuff to the colonists. These acts were not tolerable because they caused people to loose there jobs.

    The colonists fought against the British soldiers when they were trying to get back to Boston. They had a sneak attack on the British. They fought the entire way to Boston

    Most delegates at the at the First Continental Congress wanted peace with Britain. This was the first time the colonists came together as one and called themselves Americans.
