    The Magna Carter was signed by King Jonh of england, it declared that the king and the government were bound by the same laws as other citizens of england. It contains the antecedents of the idea of due process and the right to a fair and speedy trial that are included in protection offered by the U.S. bill of rights.
  • Mayflower Compact

    Mayflower Compact
    Declares that the 41 males who signed it agreed to accept majority rule and participate in a government in the best interest of all members of the colony. This agreement set the precedent for later documents outlining common wealth rule.

    SIgned by king charles in 1638, it stated no tax will be given without parliament consent soldiers cannot be put in private houses and martial law cannot be use in times of peace. This bill was signed at Parliamentary Archives in London.
