It was so powerful it started to take control of India and finally kept it under the British Empire. The Company used its own form of military mixed with british soldiers and sepoys. -

Bengal Famine
( 16 November, 1796 A.D. - 21 July, 1770 A.D.) The Famine of 1770 or mor commonly known as the Bengal famine originated in Bengal around November of 1769 and killed over ten million people throughout India and the East India Company did nothing to help the people. This marked the beginning of the civil unrest in India due to the lack of compasion shown by the British government. -
The Sepoy Rebellion
(10 May 1857 A.D. – 20 June 1858 A.D.) The Sepoy Mutiny was the mutinies of sepoy soldiers and civilians of India turning against the East India Company. The mutinys were a massacre for the uprisers and ended within a year with the victory to the British Empire. The results of the rebellion ended the Mughal Empire, the rule of the Company over India and the transfer of power over to the British Crown. -
Death of Ghandi
( 2 October, 1869 A.D. - 30 January, 1948 ) Mahatma Ghandi was the preeminent leader for Indian indipendence movement in British - ruled India. Ghandi was a peacful protester and would fast for long periods of times to prove political points. He also was a great avtivist towards non - violence. He died by a Hindu Extremest named Natharum Godse. A year before his death he saw the seccession of India from the British Empire and the end of the British Raj.
