  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    This act was passed to tax the colonists for sugar for the purpose of revenue. The sugar act was a new way of taxing for imported goods such as molasses from non British-isles.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    This act was passed to let soldiers of the king come in to houses and take or borrow what was there. Colonists didn't like this because they also had to pay for the stuff they took.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    This act was passed to tax the colonist on every piece of paper that they used. Ship's papers, legal documents, licenses, newspapers, other publications, and even playing cards were taxed.
  • The Townshend Act

    The Townshend Act
    This act was made to tax colonists for glass, lead, paints, paper, and tea. These goods were not mad in the colonies so the came from Britain.
  • The Tea Act

    The Tea Act
    This was a bill designed to save the faltering East India Company from bankruptcy by greatly lowering the tea tax it paid to the British government and, thus, granting it a de facto monopoly on the American tea trade.

    Boston Port Act
    This act was passed to punish the people that lived in Boston because of what happened on Boston port. What happened on the port is now know as the Boston Tea Party.

    Massachusetts Government Act And Administration of justice Act
    This act was passed to assert authority in Massachusetts with adding in more laws to repeal the colony's charter(1691)
  • Quebec Act

    Quebec Act
    This act was passed to institute a permanent administration in Canada replacing the temporary government of 1763. It gave the French Canadians complete religious freedom.
