  • The Sugar Act

    The Sugar Act
    The King was in a lot of debt. Sugar was frequently bought among american so the king made a rule that a sugar came from England and had an outrages tax on it.
  • Quartering Act

    Quartering Act
    This act said that the British need to protect the colonial interest. To do this they put troops in the colonies. The colonies did not like this and started raging.
  • The Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act
    This act was made by the king hoping to reduce his debt. Anything paper related had to have a stamp on it from the king. Everything such as birth certificates, letters, job applications, bank statements. and more
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    This act said that the British had the right to tax all imported goods heading to America. The Americans were not happy and started raging. The British did this to keep their power over the Americans. Charles Townshend created the act also to punish New York for not obeying the quartering act.
  • The Tea Act

    The Tea Act
    In the 1770's tea was extremely popular so the British parliament decided to tax tea specifically Indian Tea. This act ultimately led up to the Boston Tea Party where tons of tea were droped into the Boston Harbor.
  • Boston Port Act

    Boston Port Act
    This act was main as a result of the Boston tea party. At the Boston Tea Party the Americans drop tea into the Boston Harbor. This act says that an American in the harbor cannot load nor unload a ship and that you have to have a special license to be on the harbor. Americans felt violated of their freedom.
  • MA Government Act and the Administration of Justice Act

    MA Government Act and the Administration of Justice Act
    This act was made by the king attempting to keep the Americans under his control. Many groups were being organized that opposed the king such as the Sons Of Liberty. This act said that you cannot hold any type of meeting without it being run by the king and given the okay.
  • The Quebec Act

    The Quebec Act
    This act was made to keep the colonists and nordiques happy but in some ways in only angered them. The act said that everyone in Quebec would have religious freedom and were able to freely practice the catholic faith. But the catch is that they territory was annexed by the king and like the americans they would now be low in the ranks in government decisions.
