The plague arrives at Melcombe Regis

The Black Death spreads across Great Britain
In August 1348, the plague hit Bristol and one month later it reached London. In April 1349, the Black Death arrived in Wales and in July it definitely hit Ireland. In spring 1350, there was a huge outbreak of the epidemic in Scotland.
The pestilence died out in September 1350. -

Peasants’ Revolt
The revolt was caused by:
- the socio-economic and political tensions generated by the Black Death pandemic in the 1340s;

- instability within the local leadership of London.
