In 1492 Columbus sailed to the ocean blue. His landing in the Caribbean was a significant event in relation to imperialism.He sailed for the Spanish throne, in attempt to grow their emperors sphere of influence.

Cortes and the battle of Tenochitilan

Cortes wanted to get control over the Aztecs and their riches, so their goal was to take out Tenochtitlan. Once Cortes starting fighting eventually they did capture Tenochtitlan and all of this was an example of empire.
