Purple Project 2
Apple CEO Steve Jobs created an idea of using a multi-touch touchscreen to interact with a computer in a way in which he could type directly onto the display, removing the physical keyboard and mouse, the same as a tablet computer. Jobs recruited a group of Apple engineers to investigate the idea. When Jobs reviewed the prototype and its user interface, he conceived a second idea of implementing the technology onto a mobile phone.The whole effort was called Project Purple 2. -
Steve Jobs Announces the First iPhone
[Steve Jobs gave one of his most important and iconic Keynote Presentation, announcing the first iPhone. He stated the release of a wide-screen iPod with touch controls, a revolutionary mobile phone, and a breakthrough internet device but only one product. The First Gen iPhone is Released
After the incrdible Keynote Presentation, Steve Jobs gave earlier the same year, the iPhone, first generation was finally released and sold in the United States but later released later that year in November for the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Potrugal, the Republic of Ireland and Austria. The original iPhone had a 3.5-inch LCD screen at 320x480 and 163ppi, a quad-band 2G EDGE data radio, 802.11b.g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 EDR, and a 2 megapixel camera. Apple sold 6.1 million units. -
The iPhone 3G Announcement and Release
Apple announced the iPhone 3G at WWDC 2008, June 9 which included Enterprise, third-party apps, more countries, and being more affordable. The software changes came as part of iPhone OS 2.0. Instead of the original aluminium casing with plastic buttons, Apple went with a polycarbonate casing with metal buttons. The product was then released two days after the announcement. The product was sold with storage of 8 or 16GB and the price dropped from $499/$599USD, to $199/$299USD. -
The iPhone 4
After the 3GS, Steve Jobs announced the iPhone 4 on June 7, 2010 at WWDC. It had over 100 new features, an all-new design, an all-new camera, and an all new screen resolution. iPhone 4 was the biggest leap since the original iPhone. It was flat, chemically-hardened glass (aluminosilicate) front and back, with a stainless steel band that ran around the sides, and it was 24% thinner than the iPhone 3GS. It was later released on the 24th of June. -
iPhone 5
Apple announced an iPhone event for September 12, 2012. There, Apple senior vice president of worldwide marketing introduced the iPhone 5. It was the fourth major redesign and the second major improvement to the iPhone's display since the original. Though the screen got bigger, the volume of the phone was 12% smaller than the 4. iPhone 5S and 5C
Apple's event on September 10, 2013, introduced 2 iPhones, the iPhone 5C a colourful reimagining of the previous iPhone and the iPhone 5S, advancing all the other previous iPhones. The 5C, unlike all the other iPhones had plastic casing tinted bright green, blue, yellow, pink, and white and was considerably cheaper. The 5S was a more powerful version of the 5 and with its aluminum unibody, it had an all new Touch ID button, a secure way to unlock your phone with just a touch of your finger. -
The IPhone 6
The new iPhone was introduced on September 9, 2014, and released on September 19, 2014. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus include a number of changes over their predecessor, including models with larger 4.7 and 5.5 inches (120 and 140 mm) displays, a faster processor, upgraded cameras, improved LTE and Wi-Fi connectivity. This generation also introduced the iPhone 6 Plus which is a larger version of the 6. -
iPhone 6S
The iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus were announced on September 9, 2015. They are the better versions over their predecessors, featuring improved hardware specifications, including 3D Touch, a force-sensitive touchscreen, upgraded rear-facing and front-facing cameras, a faster processor, and a new casing made of a stronger 7000 series aluminum alloy. The 6S and Plus came out in four different colours, space gray, silver, gold and the new rose gold. It was later released on September 25, 2015. -
The iPhone 5SE
The iPhone 5SE was introduced on March 21, 2016, at Apple's Cupertino headquarters and was released on March 31, 2016. It was a replacement for iPhone 5S as a lower-cost entry in the iPhone product line; combining the updated processor, rear camera, and other features from iPhone 6S. It is also available in the same colours as the 6S.
