    The Proclomation of 1763 was one of the effects of the French and Indidan war that made the colonists angry. The proclomation stated that colonists and Indians should stay away from the other side of the line so no one would kill each other. Colonists saw this as an act of tyranny.

    The Stamp Act
    Another tax the British put on the colinsts was the Stamp Act. The Stamp Act made colonists buy a stamp for every piece of paper they used. This infuritated colonists becuase they had no representation in Parliament to defend them aginst the Stamp Act.

    The Townshend Acts
    Once again, the British decided to tax colonists on basic goods imported from Great Britan. This led to the boycott of British Goods. Colonists became very tired and angry with the British for placing unfair taxes on them. Colonists were ready and wanted to start change.

    The Boston Massacre was an event that brought the colonists together. Someone knoncked a soldier over, which resulted in the panick and death of a black man. Colonists wanted a trial to convict the soldiers of murder.

    The colonists hid their gunpowder and weapons so the British wouldn't find them. Minutemen were determined to make the British flee. Within a couple of minutes the British were retreating.

    Isreal Putnam led his men to build a fort on top of Breed's Hill. This was a successful strategy becuase when the British tried to attack the minutemen they could not make it up the hill. Even though the British won that day, the minutemen put up a strong fight.

    On July 3rd, 1775, George Washington toom command of the Continental Army. Washington worked hard to create order and train his men.

    Thomas Jefferson was appointed to write the D.O.I on June 13, 1776 along with other people. This event is important becuase without their draft the D.O.I may never have exsisted. .
