    It was the end of the French and Indian war. England had beat France. The British imposed taxes on the colonists inorder to take more control over the colonies.

    Paralament passed a modified version of the Sugar and Molasses Act. Under the Molasses Act colonial merchants had been required to pay a tax of six pence per gallon on the importation of foreign molasses.

    A colonist threw a snowball, causing a British soldier to slip, fall, and accedentally fire his gun. This started the Boston Massacre. Five innocent civilian colonists were killed and six were injured.

    The British Govornment raised taxes on all shipped tea. this angered the Colonists, so they formed a group of men who dressed up as mohawk indians. These men raided the ship that was carrying the expensive tea and dumped all of it overboard.

    The four acst were 1) the port of boston was closed untill colonists paid for the destryed tea. 2) The royal govorner could ban town meetings due to the meeting that started the tea party. 3) British officials accused of crimes were to stand trial in Britan instead of Massachusets. 4) a Quartering act allowing British troops to be quartered and unocupied in colonal buildings and homes. The colonistes were angered due to the acts because they believed it was a violation of their rights.
