    According to the historical marker on display at the amphitheater, the Adderley brothers grew up in Tallahassee in the 1940s, just a mile away from the park in the neighborhood, Smokey Hallow.

  • Tallahassee City Commission Votes to Honor Adderley Brothers

    During the June 22, 2022, City Commission meeting (BoardDocs® Meeting: City Commission Meeting & Summary Wed, Jun 22, 2022, n.d.), commissioners unanimously voted to not only rename the Capital City Amphitheater, after the Adderley brothers but also a portion of Suwannee Street, that runs adjacent to the park, to Adderley Way.

    City of Tallahassee hosted a naming revealing ceremony at Cascades Park in celebrating of the renaming of the Capital City Amphitheater to the Adderley Amphitheater.
