A cultural milestone for enthusiasts as it went on to win many races over 5 years and two Championships and helped to set the trend for many other vehicles well into the 90s. The name “Quattro” has been visible on Audi models since the Quattro and in that time as of February 2013 the 5 millionth Audi model with the Quattro drive was constructed. -

Developed by Namco and Released in the U.S under licencing by Midway the original name was going to be carried on directly from Japanese released versions as “Puc-man” but was changed quickly after as people kept turning the P into an F, approximately 7million copies have been sold so that would have been a "bit" of aproblem. -
John Lennon's assasination
John Lennon was assassinated by a later proved schizophrenic Mark David Chapman; chapman had been planning the assassination for a while and had missed the opportunity in Hawaii and New York. This tragedy affected many people considering that millions of records have been sold containing Lennon’s work. -
The Release of the De Lorean DMC-12
The DMC-12 was made most famous by its appearances in the Back to the future Trilogy. As with all product placements it was designed to boost sales, unfortunately founder John DeLorean was charged with cocaine smuggling on October 29th 1982, DeLorean did successfully defend himself and was found not-guilty but by that time his newly formed motor company was on the brink of collapse and later had the assets sold off before the first Back to the future could gain it anymore sales,only 6500 remain. -
A.I.D.S is Identified
On the 5th of June, 5 young homosexual males in Los Angeles California were diagnosed with a rare lung infection; Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (PCP). All the men had previously been completely healthy but had since contracted many infections, some happening simultaneously. Once these men had been tested the common factor had been found and identified as A.I.D.S. As of 2010 34 million people have tested positive for the virus. -
The Wedding of Charles and Dianna
The royal wedding between Prince Charles and Diana Spencer was view by 750 million people. Many fashion designers will say that Dianna’s dress set a trend that lasted till the wedding of her first born William, when the dress of his wife Catherine supposedly set the new trend for all weddings to come. -

Thriller was Jackson’s sixth album, having a total length of 42 mins and 19 secs it is by far the most well-known of the late artist’s exploits. Produced by Jackson himself and previous partner Quincy Jones they both set a budget for the album of $750,000 with additional input and assistance for Paul McCartney. Since the album’s release it has sold 22million copies outside the U.S alone in the U.S it is estimated that 130,000 copies are sold annually. -
Final episode of M*A*S*H
Mash was set in the medical camp of the 4077th during the Korean war and managed by its final episode to have a peak of over 125 million viewers and has appeared on many best T.V shows of all time lists over its 256 episodes. The opening and closing theme “Suicide is Painless” was merely going to be the standard mix, but perhaps for the better it was quickly changed to the instrumental because of the lyrics and the affect that they might have had on audiences. -
Hurricane Alica
Hurricane Alicia was a category 3 that caused 21 direct deaths and 21 billion dollars (U.S dollars 1983) worth of damage at speeds of around 185 km/h. On its path it affected the American states of Mississippi, Nebraska, Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. After the storm had “retired” there were 63,000 people without homes water food or shelter, luckily the red-cross was on hand to provide aid to those who needed it. -

The line of Cabbage patch kids was created by Xavier Roberts at the time it was called “little people” but was later changed to its current title when the brand became more successful. The Cabbage patch brand’s licencing has been owned by 5 different companies, starting with Coleco which lasted from 1982-1988 when the company went broke and was bought out by the next in line; Hasbro.

Again it was all planed out before 2003 could draw to a close the brand was sold again to the now owner Playalong which is a sub company of Jakks pacific..The popularity started because of Coleco’s approach to marketing. -

. Hasbro had the rights from 1988-1994 Hasbro sold then sold the licencing to Mattel as they could not seem to get the sales they were hoping for. Mattel owned the brand from 1995-2003 their approach included Cabbage patch swimming toys tooth brushes and the introduction of the birth certificate for each doll, this in the end did not stop them from selling the licensing to Toys "R" us.

There were one or two things that it did not offer that its predecessors did one being larger RAM and the other being upgradability and it had. I cannot resist comparing it to modern computers the data space was 192 kb that’s over a thousandth of what we have now. -

The Bhopal disaster takes place
The gas release in Bhopal India caused 16,000 claimed deaths but out of the 500,000 that were exposed. The tank holding the gas was from a Union Carbide minimum storage tank that was holding methyl Isocyanate. Methyl Isocyanate is used in the production of adhesives (glues) and rubber materials. Exposure to the gas causes vomiting, coughing, severe eye irritation and the feeling of suffocation, also the children of the survivors were noticeable shorter than they should have been. -

The Ozone layer that surrounds earth is a natural occurrence that is in place to help protect the planet along with the rest of the atmosphere. Specifically it helps to filter UV and Gamma rays that in large doses are harmful to the inhabitants of this planet; it also helps to degrade asteroids upon entering the atmosphere. -

The wreck was discovered at 3700m below sea level, the Franco-American expedition found that the entire ship had been torn in half likely before it hit the seabed. -

Windows 1.0 was Microsoft’s first attempt at a multitasking graphical interface OS for a PC . The reviews by critics after the release were mainly circulating around the fact that it did not live up to the expectations that they had, critics more specifically had problems with its high system requirements and that they caused slow performance when multiple applications were active at one time. -

However the O-rings were not designed for temperatures that cold as they were on the day of the launch intended to detach before leaving Earth’s atmosphere, the as a result of the cold temperatures that were around -1.7°C the pressure around the O-ring suddenly dropped causing the fuel inside the booster to burn a hole in the side of the booster resulting in the violent explosion. -

Jan 26th 1986 in Cape Canaveral Florida the launch of the Space Shuttle Challenger took place and just before the craft could break the sound barrier an suspected O-ring failure caused the Challenger to explode in a large trail of smoke. On the booster rockets of the Challenger there were two O-rings on each booster the O-rings were in place to regulate the pressure for the boosters. -

At 1:23am ((Moscow time) UTC+3) on the 26th of April the Number 2 reactor at the Chernobyl Nuclear power plant exploded releasing near unfathomable amounts of superhot steam and radiation, this was all due to the graphite regulator. The graphite regulator was in place to control the water flow for the reactor and in turn the temperature moderation for it so when it gave it did it with a lot of…”expression”. There is now an exclusion zone around the area that goes 30km in each direction. -

The companies imminent birth went under way in march 1985 when 20th century News Corporation bought 50 % of the TCF holdings the parent company of 20th Century Fox. News Corp later agreed to pay the $2.55 billion necessary to obtain news stations in six major U.S cities. The Fox networks first show was The Late Show hosted by Joan Rivers; it also went on to air shows like 21 jump street, Cops, Married with Children and The Simpsons. -

): The Legend of Zelda is arguably one of the most popular video-game series of all time clocking in at 67million as of 2011. The Canadian Winter Olympics were held in Calgary Alberta, it had 1,420 athletes from 57 different nations participating in 6 sports and 10 disciplines. Costing $829 million Canadian but created 1.4billion in revenue as a result the other nations that were considered included Sweden and Italy but they missed out. The closing ceremony occurred on the 28th of the same month. -

Jim Coleman was his lawyer and Fred Lawrence was the Methodist minister who spent the night in a prayer with Bundy. -

): The Berlin Wall also known as Berliner Mauer in German was constructed 13th of August 1961. The wall was in place to separate the East Germany from the soviet occupied East Berlin. Officially referred to as the “Anti-fascist protection rampart by the German Democratic Republic (GDR) whom implied that the western side had not been “de-Nazified”. -

The wall was guarded by 3.5million East Germans who all managed to stop all of the known attempts of passing over all of which came in at about 5000 people between 1961 and 1989. The wall fell as a result of new regulations being announced by Gunter Schabowski that East Germans could pass the wall with the proper permission as a result of the broadcast people stormed down to the wall and the severely out number guards yielded as a result of the sheer numbers of the crowd.
