  • The Optical Mouse

    The Optical Mouse
    "The first two optical mice, demonstrated by two independent inventors:" one was invented by Steve Kirsch (it "used an infrared LED and a four-quadrant infrared sensor") and the second one was invented by Richard F. Lyon ("used a 16-pixel visible-light image sensor with integrated motion detection"). The original optical mice set the way for the future of all mice in use today.

    IBM Personal Computer or IBM PC,
    The IBM PC model number 5150 was introduced to the public and "was created by a team of engineers and designers under the direction of Don Estridge." It was based on open architecture meaning that adding, upgrading, and swapping components was made easier compared to a closed design.
