Roanoke Colony or The Lost Colony. Hundred people are sent to help the colonists at Roanoke Island, but they never arrive. Roanoke is also seen as The Lost Colony.

John Smith and the London Company found the Virginia Colony at Jamestown, the 1st of thirteen original American colonies.

Massachusetts

May 19, 1620

Massachusetts Bay Colony (Plymouth) is established as the 2nd colony.

New Amsterdam

Nov 18, 1626

New Amsterdam is settled, which later became New York.

Connecticut

Nov 18, 1638

Connecticut becomes the 6th colony

Delaware

Nov 18, 1641

Delaware becomes the 7th colony.

South Carolina

Nov 18, 1664

South Carolina is established as the 9th colony.

Pennsylvania

Nov 18, 1682

Quaker William Penn founds the Pennsylvania Colony; the 12th of original 13 colonies, looking for freedom of religion.

English royal colony

Nov 18, 1729

North and South Carolina become an English royal colony.

Georgia

Nov 18, 1732

Georgia becomes the 13th colony, named after King George II
