Mier Y Teran warned Mexico that they needed to do something or the Texans would rebel -
Law of April 6, 1830
- Americans were no longer permitted to enter Texas.
- Those already living in Texas could not bring in more slaves.
- All empresario contracts that were not fulfilled were cancelled.
- New contracts would be for Mexican and European settlers.
- All items coming into Texas from the U.S. would be taxed.

Battle of Gonzales
Mexicans didn't trust the Texans, so they went to get their cannon back. The Texans revolted and refused to give it back resulting in the start of the revolution. -
Battle of The Alamo
Santa Anna launched a 13-day siege on the Alamo. The Texans defended but were greatly outnumbered. After 13 days, Sanat Anna finally decided to launch the final assault lasting about an hour. All defenders of the Alamo were executed. -
Convention of 1836
Delegates of Texas meeted to form a new government, consitution, and Declaration of Independence. -
Battle of Coleto Creeek / Goliad Massacre
Sam Houston ordered James Fannin to meet his army at Victoria. Fannin left late and was sourrounded by the Mexican forces led my General Urrea. They were executed at Goliad. -
Battle of San Jancinto
Sam Houston quickly led his forces to attack Santa Anna's army by surprise. The battle lasted 18 minutes and over 600 mexicans died with about 10 Texan lives lost. They captured Santa Anna too.
