  • The Battle of Gonzales

    The battle of Gonzales was the first known event of the Texas Revolution. The town of Gonzales was given a small cannon by the government for defense. Later when Colonel Domingo de Ugartechea requested that they return it, the residents of Gonzales would delay it as long as possible, leading to a battle over the cannon, and the Mexican soldiers retreating.
  • Siege of Bexar

    The Siege of Bexar was when the Texans took over San Antonio, the center of forces in Mexico. After that, most of the soldiers went home to their families, leaving around 100 men left. Santa Anna was mad and planned to attack the Alamo. Due to the lack of soldiers, the Texans were told to retreat, but instead they tried to barricade the Alamo.
  • Battle of the Alamo

    The Battle of the Alamo was when Santa Anna attacked the Texans living at/near the Alamo so he could regain control of Texas again. The battle lasted 13 days and sadly, the Texans were outnumbered by a lot, resulting in them losing to the Mexican army.
  • Travis's Letter

    This was a letter sent by Colonel Travis, to remind the Texans of hope. To show that he, and other soldiers would never give up, victory or death, for this state's freedom. Travis's Letter
  • The Runaway Scrape

    This was when the town of Gonzales was forced to leave due to Santa Anna planning an attack. A lot of citizens were escorted by army men, but it was still brutal. Many people died due to the conditions they had to travel in. One lady even gave birth on the trip, but got sick.
  • The Goliad Massacre

    The Goliad Massacre was a brutal shooting near Goliad that was commanded by Santa Anna. As most men were killed first shot, the men that survived were taken in, killed, then burned.
