The Texas Revolution starts with the Battle of Gonzales to the Runaway Scrape in 1836. -
Battle of Gonzales
The Battle of Gonzales is considered to the first battle of the revolution. It first started with a fight with a cannon. At first the Texans buried the cannon in an orchird, but then unburied it for the battle. The cannon had a white flag that said,"Come and Take It" The Texans fired the first shot and after a few minutes the Texans won. -
March of the Mexican Army
Santa Anna comes into San Antonio after he surrendered at the Rebellion. -
Consultation of 1835
The delegates met in San Felipe to discuss about whether they should have peace or war with Mexico.The delegates also discussed about the Mexican government.They wanted to restore the Consitution of 1824, which Santa Anna was violating. -

Texans Attack of San Antonio
The morning of December 5, 1835, James C. Neill distracted the Mexican army and fired at them. The Texans surprised attack on the Mexican troops at the Alamo. -
Surrender of Mexican forces in San Antonio
After four days of fighting, Mexican general Cos sent out a Mexican truce to the Texans. Then, Texas gained all public property and weapons in San Antonio. -
Siege of the Alamo
General Santa Anna brings 2,000 troops to the Alamo. The Texans only had 145 men. Commander Travis writes to Fannin to send help and to get help from Americans. -

The Texas Declaration of Independence was made overnight. The delegates set up an assemblely known as the Convention of 1836, which was made up of 5 delegates. -

General Santa Anna brought 5,000 men to San Antonio. Fannin and 350 others found themselves surrrounded. On March 20, Texans hung a white flag to show that they wurrendered. -
Runaway Scrape
The Runaway Scrape was a period of time where terror and panic were among Texans. The colonists gathered some possesions and abandoned their homes. They headed eastward as the Mexican army headed eastward. In their panic, many died of hunger and sickness.
