Battle of the Alamo
This battle spanned from February 23, 1836-March 6, 1836. The battle lasted for 13 days. The Mexican forces won and gained control of the Alamo. Only two people survived, Susanna Dickinson and Juan Seguin. -
Texas Constitution
The Texas Constitution was written to gain independence from Mexico. They set up the interim government as well. This spanned from March 1st-March 2nd. -
Battle of San Jacinto
This was the final battle of the Texas revolution. Texas won, and they gained independence from Mexico. It was only 18 minutes long. -
Treaty of Velasco
The Treaty of Velasco was signed by Santa Anna, who was taken prisoner. This document (if signed) meant that Texas was recognized as independent by Mexico. It wasn't accepted by Mexico, because Santa Anna was prisoner and his signature was not valid. -
Ad Interim Government
This government was put in place when writing the Constitution. It was temporary and operated until October 22, 1836. -
Annexation
Texas was annexed into the US on December 29, 1845. It was the 28th state. It was annexed to expand further west.
