    Steve Austin colonizes Texas
    From a land grant from the Mexican Government Stephen F Austin starts to colonize the Brazos River area. However this was his father Moses Austin's idea to colonize in Texas however he had died before he could do it. So his son Stephen had took the reigns.
  • Battle of Velasco

    Battle of Velasco
    Mexican Commander Domingo de Ugartecha attempted to block Texan attempts to transport a cannon for possible use for the Mexicans near Anahuac. Texans under the command of Henry Smith and John Austin won when the Mexicans ran out of ammo.
  • Convention of 1832

    Convention of 1832
    A convention lead by Stephen Austin that proposed things such as tariff reduction, lifting the ban of Americans immigrating to Texas and funding of schools. However the Mexican government declared it unauthorized and illegal.

    The plan for this convention was the same as the last one. Stephen Austin was sent to deliver the petitions to the Mexican government.

    Stephen Austin arrested
    Going to Mexico City to speak to the government with a list of demands the Mexican President Santa Anna put him in prison due to suspicion of insurrection.
  • Battle of Gonzales

    Battle of Gonzales
    Mexican authorites had sent 100 men to repossess a cannon held by the Texans. Colonel John H Moore and J.W.E Wallace had decided to load the cannon with scrap metal and fired the first shot of the revolution.
  • Goliad Campaign

    Goliad Campaign
    Goliad was a town that was placed strategically because it was 50 miles up the San Antonio River and was between San Antonio and the port of Copano and it had a well fortified presidio with ample supplies. General Martin Cos had occupied Goliad along with 400 men on October 2nd however by October 5th he took a majority of his men and left to protect San Antonio with only 30 men left. George Collingsworth and 50 Texans had taken the Goliad getting a strategic position and supplies.
  • Siege of Bexar begins

    Siege of Bexar begins
    Ben Milam, Frank W Johnson and 300 Texan volunteers had began their siege on San Antonio de Bexar. On December 7th Milam was shot and killed and had inspired the Texans to keep fighting. On December 9th General Cos had called for a truce. The truce gave the Texans all public property, guns and ammo in San Antonio.

    Texas Declaration of Independence
    The Texas Declaration of Independence was written overnight and while it was being written the Alamo was being sieged and during the Convention of 1836 and was adopted by the delegates on March 2. This had created a new government for Texas.

    Siege and Battle of the Alamo
    Led by William B Travis for the army and Jim Bowie for the volunteers this two week long raid started on Feburary 23 and ended on March 6 when Santa Anna's army killed all the Texan Defenders.
  • Battle of San Jacinto

    Battle of San Jacinto
    A 17 minute long battle against Santa Anna and his army and Sam Houston and 750 Texans resulted in the defeat of Santa Anna's army. Santa Anna signed off rights to Texas to Sam Houston and in exchange would free any of Santa Anna's imprisoned men.
  • Texas becomes a part of the Union

    Texas becomes a part of the Union
    President James Polk annexed Texas and made Texas the 28th state in the United States.
