    Battle of Sabine Pass
    This battle was fought at the Sabine Pass, which was at the southernmost point of the border between Texas and Louisiana. Notable people in the battle were Confederate Lt. Dick Dowling and his artillery unit Davis Guards, which was named after President Jefferson Davis. This battle was described as unusual due to the fact that 47 Confederates had won against 4000 Union soldiers and 20 warships, with 6 artillery guns and a fort mostly made out of compacted mud.     Battle of Galveston
    The Battle of Galveston was fought in Galveston, Texas, and some notable people within the battle were Union Commander William Renshaw and multiple Confederate generals and colonels such as General Paul O. Hébert. This battle was fought because Com. Renshaw had demanded the surrender of the port prior to the battle. This battle ended with Confederate victory and the Confederates would remain control of Galveston for the rest of the Civil War.

    The Battle of Palmito Ranch took place at Cameron County, Texas. Notable people in the battle were Confederate Colonel John Salmon "Rip" Ford, and Union Colonel Theodore Harvey Barret. This battle was fought because Barret had wanted to take down a Confederate, which they head towards Palmito Ranch to find one. In the end, the Confederates had claimed victory, but soon after the battle had ended Confederates forces had surrendered the area.
