The first car that Tesla sold was the Tesla Roadster. Tesla promised delivery in 2006, but only started delivering cars in 2008. -
Tesla Model S
The Tesla Model S was first announced in a press release on June 30, 2008. An exclusive premier of the Model S was held on April 8, 2009. The model S was put into production on June 22, 2012. The Model S was created to be less expensive and more practical than the roadster, but still be sporty. And if you count 0-60 mph in less then 2.3 seconds sporty, it succeeded.
