Preston Broooks canes Charles Summer
Congressman Preston Brooks walked into the Senate chamber one day. He was in rage that very day. He beat Charles Summer more than 30 times with a gold-headed cane, the South didn't like what happened at it startted contreversy and that contreversy led to the Civil War. -

Harper's Ferry
Harper's Ferry raid was a raid om on of the South's aresenal in an attempt to free the slaves. John Brown was captured in the raid. The speech he gave at the courthouse which sentenced his death had a part in the Civil War because it made the North rethink their pan to end slavery and the South didn't like that. -
Abe Lincoln's Election
Before the election the south threatens to scene if Lincoln was elected. This enraged the South and clealy maked the divisional issues in the U.S. South Carolina was the first state to secede. The seperation between the south and north made a lot of problems between North ans South and the problems that were started also started the War. -
Fort Sumter
The Battle at Fort Sumter was the first and beginning battle of the Civil War. The South attacked a Northen Fort and the North said they will retailiate.The soliders in the Fort surrendered after two days.
