Bacon's Rebellion
Bacon's rebellion led to the Colonists adopting slavery as the primary source for labor due to many indentured servants obtaining liberty. After the 1676 rebellion led by Bacon, the colonies decided that black slaves from Africa would be the way to go, since they never got their freedom. The increase of slaves would lead to fights for rights and blood to be spilled. This led to the civil war. -
Ratification of the Declaration of Independence
The United States Declaration of Independence written by Thomas jefferson was embraced by congress on july 4th, 1776, stating not only that "you have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" but also that "all men are created equal" yet ironically slavery still remained legal in the colonies. Slaves should be considered "Men" they are human just like everyone else, they should be given their rights but are instead judged by the simplicity of skin color. This led to the Civil War -
The invention of the Cotton Gin
The Cotton Gin invented by Eli Whitney was used to separate cotton fibers from seeds making the process much faster and a lot easier, this created an increase in slave population as landowners obtained more land and began making more money. With the riches being made in the south people began to demand for more slaves and defend this inhumane way of production and lifestyle. This led to the Civil War. -
The Louisiana Purchase
In 1803 President Thomas Jefferson purchased the Louisiana territory for $15 million dollars from the French as Napoleon needed cash to support his army. With this new expansion of land the population of slavery was kindled, lighting a flame beyond control and corrupting humanity. This led to the Civil War. -

texas becomes a state giving the southern states more power and establishing an impact in balance. This led to the Civil War. -
Mexican War comes to an end
America was ceded western territories at the end of the mexican war, posing a problem as to whether the new territores would be free or slave states. As a solution Congress passed the compromise of 1850 making california free and allowing choice for utah and new mexico establishing feuds between the north and south due to popular sovereignty. The release of uncle tom's cabin on the 20th of march, 1852 showed the notherners the inhumane and cruel treatment of other human beings due to the color of their skin causing an uprising of abolitionists. This led to the Civil War -
Kansas Nebraska Act
A problem was stirred in the early 1850's as the Nebraska region wanted to become a state but due to the Missouri Compromise it would have to a Free State causing disagreements because the region wanted to be a Slave State. This dispute was settled by Senator Stephen A. Douglas as he established the Kansas - Nebraska act, letting the people of the region vote for what kind of state, this freedom of choice being known as what is called popular sovereignty This led to the Civil War -
John Brown's raid at Harper's Ferry
John Brown was an abolitionist who planned to lead 17 men into virginia and begin a slave uprising, turning against their masters. John Browns violent way of establishing slaves freedom divided the North and South as he represented the southernors greatest fear of their slaves one day violently turning on them. This led to the Civil War. -
