  • Move-In

    The old man and his caretaker move in to the old house. They are standoffish with their neighbors and quickly build a reputation as "weird."
  • A New Neighbor

    The neighbor moves in next door. The rest of the town knows about the strange man and the strange caretaker, but the neighbor does not. He tries to be friendly, but they turn him away repeatedly.
  • Shunned Again

    The neighbor brings over food and wine as a peace offering, but has the door slammed in his face by the young caretaker. Confused, he decides that making friends with that particular house is a lost cause.
  • New Years Celebration!

    The whole town enjoys a night of revelry and festivities to ring in the new year! The neighbor enjoys the festivities, and almost considers knocking on the old man's door to see if he wants to come to the party. However, he thinks better of it, and goes back to continue drinking with his newfound friends from town.
  • A Shriek in the Night

    While enjoying a quiet night in, the neighbor hears what he thinks is a bloodcurdling shriek from the strange house next door. Despite his past experiences with the strange house, he immediately goes and fetches the police.
  • Murder, in the First Degree

    The neighbor awakes the next day to find that the young caretaker has been arrested for the grievous murder of the old man. The strange house is sealed off for the duration of the investigation.
  • A Few Months of Silence

    4 months have passed since the neighbor moved in. Ever since new years, he has made conscious efforts to not bother the strange house next door. It has been strangely quiet, which he suspects is how they like it.
  • One year later...

    A year has passed, and the neighbor has not made any more progress in making friends with the old man and his strange caretaker.
  • A New Beginning

    Months later, after the investigation is completed and the house is reopened for sale, a young couple moves in. The neighbor brings over food and wine as a welcome gift, with reservations, and is pleasantly surprised to find that they are lovely people. The house does not seem so strange anymore.
