This act was passed to give land back for agricultural reasons. It helped the more arid sections of land find new meaning and purpose. It was viewed as America “reclaiming” their land, hence the name. -
Elkins Act Passed
The Elkins Act was an act that prohibited railroad companies from giving excessive charges and fees to transfer large quantities of goods. It gave more power to smaller businesses. -
TR And The Northern Securities Case
During TR’s presidency, he established the Northern Securities Case. This was what earned him the nickname the “Trust-Buster”. He was able to break apart the many monopolies that had formed and helped but an end to their overwhelming power. -
TR Wins His First Full Term
Theodore R. was able to win his first full term in 1904. He took down Alton B. Parker in a landslide victory and became the first president to win a full term after stepping up the previous term while being the vice president. -

In 1906, Roosevelt was convinced by many different opinions to turn Yosemite into federally owned property. He did so especially after seeing it himself. He went there and explored as much as he could to see the nature and beauty behind it -
Meat Inspection Act of 1906
The Meat Inspection Act of 1906 was one that banned the selling of adulterated or misbranded livestock. It also encouraged for products to be clean and disease-free. -
Passage Of Pure Food And Drug Act
Similar to the Meat Inspection Act, this act does mostly the same. It prohibited the sale of misbranded or adulterated food and drugs in interstate commerce. -
Roosevelt Leaves Presidency, Visits Africa
During June of 1910, Theodore left America to go on an expedition. This was a very successful trip and led to the discovery of a ton of new species. This trip was also funded by no other than Andrew Carnegie. -
TR Runs For Presidency in the Bull-Moose Party
TR ran for president under a new party. When reporters questioned him about this he said it was because he felt “strong as a bull-moose.” The party’s goals are to increase federal regulation and protect the well being of ordinary people.
