Teddy Roosevelt left his presidency to help and form Rough Riders, which was a unit that had fought the Spanish Army in Cuba to great publicity. Teddyn Roosevelt visted Africa and had an expidition from 1909 to 1911 he was with his son and a crew of naturalist it was an expedition sponsored in part by the Smithsonian Institution and he was there to hunt big game which would then get stuffed and turned over to the Smithsonian for its exhibit halls. -
