Act passed to enable sanitary conditions in factories, correct labeling to prevent fraud or misbranding, and inspection of animals and meat. -

This act allowed foods and drugs to be sold solely based off of the effects of the products. It was also intended to make it safe. Also, their ingredients are disclosed and that drugs are effective and are not sold as food or cosmetics. -
