Theodore Roosevelt easily won a term of his own. Roosevelt won 56.4% of the popular vote; this, and his popular vote margin of 18.8%. He won the election by more than 2 1/2 million popular votes. No earlier president had won by such a large margin. Link text -

Devil's Tower, Wyoming, named first national monument
Devils Tower is a large geological deposit of igneous rock named by Teddy and approved as the first national monument by him too. It's a figure that sticks out from the earth in a monolithic fashion, a feature that gave rise to many legends and public fascination by early American pioneers. Leaves Presidency, Visits Africa
Roosevelt declined to run for president again in 1908 and right after Taft was inaugurated in 1909 he left for Africa. He went to hunt big game and to collect objects for the Smithsonian Institution. Link text -
