Filming - JVC HD CAM
Using the JVC camera was very useful as it allowed us to capture some really good shots, there was no difficulties in using the camera as the group had already had a tutorial on how to use it at the beginning of the year. While filming our opening scene we as a group became much better at using the camera and the different ways in which we could use it. -
Filming - FlipCam
The FlipCam was used in order to take pictures for evidence of filming for our blog. The flip camera was very useful as it was very easy to carry around and even easier to use. We also used the camera in order to take pictures for our storyboard anamatic. -
Filming - Microphone
Eventhough there was no dialogue in my groups film opening we did use the microphone in order to record the sounds of the skateboard. This process was very easy to do as we only needed the sound and not a video recording so it could be filmed everywhere. Using the microphone was helpful as it allowed us to complete this step. -
Editing - Final Cut Pro
As I and my group had used final cut pro before we had grasped the basics however this time round there was much more complicated things we wanted to achieve for example speeding up clips in order to make them work with other shots. This process was time consuming but helped us learn how to use final cut pro much better and allowed us to develop our skills. -
Handbrake
Handbrake was very useful as it allowed us to save our work from FinalCutPro and export it and upload it onto many different things such as our blog. I have noticed that it can take quite a while for handbrake to do its job which would require you to give it enough time to do, this tends to be a disadvantage if you are in a rush and do not have enough time to wait. -
Editing - Motion
Motion was a very interesting piece of technology as it allowed us to create our very own ident, this was useful because it made our opening scene our own! There was a range of different idents for us to choose from this was useful because it allowed us to go in any direction we wanted. This was the very first time I have used motion, at the beginning it was quite difficult to use but once use to it, it was much easier and the results were worth it.
