George Boole
George Boole is most kommonly known for inventing the Boolean logic, the basis pof modern computer logic. Boolean logic is a form of algebra where all values are either true or false. It's very useful today because it works well with the binary numbering system, where every bit has a value of 1 or 0. George Boole was self taught which is impressive concidering that he was a mathmematician, philosopher and logician. Since his childhood he was was interested in science and match. -
Ada Lovelace
Ada Lovelace has several times been called the worlds first computer programmer. She managed to write the 1st machine algorithm. In her teenage year she met Charles Babbage who mentored her and got her interested in technology. She was later asked to transelate an artical about Babbage's work, in her notes she included descriptions of how codes could be created. She also did some work on calculating the chances of winning while gambling. -
Charles Babbage
Charles Babbage was one of the first people to design a computer. He is most known to having designed the first automatic computer engine. Born in 1791 he was way ahead of his time. He used to supervise human computers who were developing astronomical tables used for navigational purposes. He got the idea of mechanically calculating mathematical tables and later made a small calculator that could solve ertain mathemal computations to eight deciamals. -
Alan Mathison Turing
Alan Mathison Turing is most kommonly known for inventing the Bombe, which is a code-breaking machine. He was born in London and used the Bombe to decipher secret German incrypted messages during WW2. During his lifetime he made major contributations to England and the rest of the world. He was fortunate enough to recive a top education at a private school and later attended Cambrige to study math, which gave him a lot of the knowlege needed for his inventions. -
Grace Hopper
Grace Hopper has been one of the most important people for technology. She managed to get women intersted in tech and was also the creator of different types of programming. She created the COBOL language which is used in modern programming. She got insperation for the COBOL language bacause she wanted it to be based on english words. She also programmed the Mark 1 computer during WW2, making her imoportant for US military. She also invented one of the first linkers. -
Bill Gates - Microsoft
Bill gates is a software developer, philantropist and founder of Microsoft, which is an american tech company who manufactures, sells and supports computer software. Gates originally started Microsoft to design microprocessors and software for the Altar 8800, which was an early version of a personal computer. He started Microsoft with a friend named Paul Allen in his garage. They were both college dropouts and wanted to achive something. -
Steve Jobs - Apple
Steve Jobs is commonly known for creating the first modern smartphone through his company, Apple. Although the company was created in 1976 the iPhone came out in 2007. Steve Jobs and the co-founder of Apple, Steve Wozniak, started the company because they wanted to make a personal computer. Generally Apple designs, develops computer software and offer online services. He also invented one of the first linkers. He started out in his parent garage. Apple is one of the big 4 tech copmpanies.
