Difference Engine
The difference engine was designed as a mechanical calculator, calculating error free times tables. -
Complex Number Calculator (CNC)
The CNC was one of the first calculators, which performed operations on complex numbers by voice commands over a phone line. -
Z3 Computer
Running on binary floating point, the Z3 computer was used by the Nazis during WW2 to calculate wing flutter. -
Atanasoff-Berry Computer (ABC)
Built in Iowa State College, the ABC ran on a new binary arithmetic system that was very simliar to the one in modern computers, but could only perform linear equations. -
Colossus
Colossus was used as an processing system to find possible solutions to Nazi ciphers, such as the Lorenz cipher. -
PDP-1
The PDP-1 was the precursor to the minicomputer, sold for $120,000 each. Only 50 were built. -
IBM System/360
The System/360 was a group of six compatible computers capable of working together. It was extremely popular, as sales rose to 1,000 per month 2 years after its release. -
