President Franklin Roosevelt, due to the crisis of the Great Depression, declared a bank holiday in which the banking system would be shut down for one week to put an end to waves of people flooding the banks. This break lasted from March 6, 1933, to March 13, 1933. -
Social Security Act
Put in place under President Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal, the Social Security Act established the now necessary Social Security program and provided benefits and government assistance for those who either did not have a job or could not get a job due to some form of disability. -

Being one of the key reasons why the United States made the decision to join WWII, the attack on Pearl Harbor occurred when Japan carried out a surprise strike on the US Naval base in Hawaii. The Japanese Naval Air Service were sent with a mission to be sure America stayed out of the war in order to rid of any potential forces that may interfere with their triumph in the war.
