    Gold Standard Act
    This act was put in place during the time of President William McKinley in order to prevent the government from overspending. The idea was that using gold (because it came about so slowly) instead of paper currency would lower and limit the amount of money the government would or could spend.

    Assassination of President McKinley
    Six months into his first term, President William McKinley was assassinated by an anarchist named Leon Czolgosz. Because of McKinley's death, his Vice President, Theodore Roosevelt became President.
  • Formation of Ford Motor Company

    Formation of Ford Motor Company
    After the formation and quick downfall of Ford's first two attempts at a motor company, he succeeded in forming Ford Motor Company due to manufacturing advances and the success of the Ford Model T. Ford would also go on to become well known for its use of the assembly line.

    The RMS Titanic was a large ship carrying nearly 2,200 people on its voyage from New York to Britain. It sank on the Morning of April 15, 1912, after it struck an iceberg. At the time, it was the largest shipwreck in history, making it so significant.

    Originally, President Wilson wished for the United States to stay neutral during this war, however, Germany's declaration of submarine warfare, America’s economic motives and trade ideals, and the multiple allied propogandas sent the US into war.

    This treaty is one of the most notable peace treaties in the history of America. It ended World War I and accused Germany of igniting the war. The treaty formed from the Paris Peace conference when the Allied Powers of the war came together.

    One of the biggest milestones in the Women's Rights movement was this amendment. It granted women the right to vote and is still remembered and recognized very often in today's society. While passed on June 4, 1919, it was ratified on August 18, 1920
