The first prototype spacecraft was launched in 1978 and the full constellation of 24 satellites became operational in 1993. Because of this, they developed a navigation system that became available to civilians worldwide. This gave mailing delivery services an easier way to navigate and allows us to see nearby food places, track pets, and even see busy traffic times.
