Lie Detector
A controversial technology that was later debunked and is no longer admissible in court as evidence was the ‘Lie’ Detector. Using your physical responses to stimulating questions, it measures your breathing, heart rate, and even blood pressure. It really helped to show what technology could do, nut was marketed on baseless claims to make criminals afraid of this machine to entice them to tell the truth. There may have been truth behind it, yet rarely ever worked. Gotta love the placebo effect. -
Traffic Lights
in 1923 traffic lights really started taking off and becoming a mandatory thing for cities intersections. Traffic lights had been around since around 1868 in different versions and forms though. -
Loudspeaker
The first patent and ‘modern’ loudspeaker was in 1924. It did exactly as it does today. Allows someone to be very loud and be heard a long distance. This became a standardized design and was first sold in 1926. -
Television
This one has not changed much since its first release. Its a screen that changes the image its showing at a set speed, or frame rate. Called a television. Yes it had advanced and become much better, but its general function has remained the same until as of late with the real season of ‘smart TVs’ being able to stream whatever you want without an external input. -
Ford Model T
This was the last decade and day that Ford had sold the Model T. Regarded as the most affordable car of its time. Mostly due to the fact that Ford essentially created the factory assembly line. Who knows if they will bring this name back.
