Had 2 cassette tapes (1 for recording incoming calls and 1 for outgoing messages), they were originally expensive when manufactured in the United States but became cheaper when Asian manufacturers started selling models. In the mid-1980's, it was uncommon to fid someone who didn't have an answering machine. -
