First Commercial Computer

1951 First commercial computer - J. Presper Eckert and John Mauchly
The UNIVAC propelled the computer forward. It allowed for about 1,000 calculations per second, so the speed of this computer was much quicker then past ones.

Compiler

1952 First Compiler - Grace Hopper
This new Compiler would now allow for a more efficient computer programming and a less error-prone programming system as well. This also allowed for English writing instead of the old binary code type of writing for programming.

FORTRAN

With this invention it made computer programming more accessible. It also shortened the process of programming.

This Invention allowed for the storing of a larger amount of data

Integrated Circuits

1959 First Intergreted Circuits - Robert Noyce
The Integrated Circuit created by Noyce allowed for a huge leap in the technology world. This showed that you can fit many pieces of technology onto a smaller unit. he was able to combine and simplify many items to create the integrated circuit that was a lot smaller, cheaper costing, and faster than what was before it.
