USB
While the creation of the USB was during the late 1990s, the actual release date of the invention for commercial use was in the 2000s. Thanks to it's compact size and great storage combabilities, it revolutionized storage and data transfers. It did so well that it's even used today by some people, 20 years after it was created. It was created by Ajay Bhatt. -
Bluetooth 2.0
While Bluetooth was already invented, Bluetooth 2 brought upon massive improvements from it's previous iteration. Some of those being better energy efficiency and data transfer speeds. It paved the way forward for the wireless world. Bluetooth was originally created by Jaap Haartsen but there were many people at work that improved it to make Bluetooth 2.0. -
3d Printing
While 3d building was technically invented during the 1980s, the commercial use of it wasn't seen till the mid to early 2000s It revolutionized computer history by managing to intertwine itself with manufacturing, prototyping, and design. It allowed for the easy creation and use of custom made parts which played a large role in various fields. It was created by Chuck Hull. -
HTML5
HTML5 was the next iteration of HTML that improved on the previous version of HTML4. It improved the native support for video and audio, paved the way for the creation of flash games, and was even more efficient and user friendly. It was created by Ian Hickson -
Bitcoin
Bitcoin was created in 2009 and while at first it didn't have much of an impact, eventually it brought the creation of a decentralized digital currency system. Bitcoin also very obviously sparked a digital currency movement that changed the lives of quite a lot of people. It was created by Satoshi Nakamoto
