Blended Learning Integration
This is the timeline of events that we will be going through as we implement a blended learning program at our school. -
All Classrooms have Promethean Boards
The majority of our classrooms have promethean boards. We have also just been awarded funding for getting the rest of our campus up to date. Since all of our teachers have been trained in the use, as we move classroom due to construction every teacher will be able to continue using the technology availible. We have got the funding and we are now putting them into classrooms. Our goal is to have Promethean Boards in every class before the 15th, the latest by the end of the month. -
Replacing of the netbooks
We have purchased all of our new devices, chromebooks for the high school and iPads for the middle and elementary schools. All of the netbooks will be given back to the distrcit and we will have brand new devices on campus ready to be used by the end of this month. We are currently putting the software onto the devices and reimaging them for students. -
Promethean Board Training
This is an all staff training that shows how to use a promethean board. There will be three levels; novice, intermediate and advanced. The advanced course will show how to do content specific pedagocial skills and related to the content area. Intermediate will show how to become more masterful and detail how become more effective. Novice will be shown the basics of the technology.
Since every teacher will have this device in their room every teacher will be able to participate and engage. -
Bandwidth Expansion
We need to increase of bandwidth on site. As we become more and more blended and offer more technology we need to ensure that we have the hardware to support it.
All of our students are going to have a device by the middle of November. We need to ensure that we have the proper facilities to support them the rest of the school year. -
Update the Facilities of whole campus
We know that we have to update our electrical systems, update our outlets to be able to support all of the charging and energy needs that we will be encountering in both the high school campus and the middle/elementary campus. Since the campus will still be under contruction this will be a way to get a major update finsihed without disrupting our school. -
Purchase of Google Classroom for our high school
We need to have a program that students and teachers can use in order to have blended learning on campus and off campus. If students have access to google classroom at home as well it allows them to access all of the content and materials they need. We need to purchase this to have a month to prep and ensure smooth transition. -
Purchase of Open DNS for security
Due to E-Rate and COPPA we need to make sure that all of our students information is protected. Open DNS is a software that is downloaded onto each device and then runs whether on our site network or a private network, stoping students from being phished, download malware and virsus'. It is a neccessary step to ensure our students information is kept safe. -
Google Classroom Training for High School Teachers
We need to make sure that all of our high school teachers are prepared to use google classroom for a LMS for the school year. This will be a 3 day training, the goal is that every teacher will be able to feel comfortable and successful before the school year begins. -
1:1 Device to Student ratio for High School (take home)
We have been able to get every single one of our students a device that they can take home and bring back to school for the 2016-2017 school year. This is just going to be in effect for the High School.
