Smart board
The first smart board was created through "Smart Technologies" and introduced to the public in 1991. This affected my life because my teachers use them in class daily to help teach. -
AIM Chat
AIM (AOL Instant Messaging) Chat was invented in 1997 as a way to directly chat back and for with another person. Barry Appelman and Stephen D. William worked together for 5 months making this available for AOL users. It affected my life because I would always use it back in grade school because 1) I thought it was cool, and 2) It was a quick and easy way to talk to friends since I didn't have my own cell phone. -
Mouse Scroll
The scroll wheel on the computer mouse was created by Eric Michelman working with Microsoft. This has affected me because it made scrolling down pages and documents easier. Instead of dragging the curser to the down/up arrow, I can just roll my finger on top of it. -

Google
The largest search engine, Google, was created. Google plays a large roll in my life because I use it daily. I use it to look up song lyrics, pictures, find research, and I am even using it for this project right now. Without google I would get tasks done much slower. -
TiVo
TiVo was invented back in 1999, giving users an opportunity to record shows or movies that are playing on TV, and come back whenever and watch them. This affected my life because when I was doing homework back in middle school, my dad would record a show that originally I would be missing, and give me the chance to watch it another time. I don't use TiVo anymore though because it led to DVR which I currently use. Now I never miss one of my favorite shows. -
Launch of Youtube
Youtube was launched by Steve Chen and Chad Hurley in 2005. They sold Youtube to Google for 1.65 million dollars. The invention of YouTube affected my life because I use it very often. I have used it for past reasons such as looking up cool new ways to paint my nails, design clothes, and even step by step dance lessons to use for cheer practice. -
