    Ada Lovelace
    Born in London, Ada was the countess och Lovelace, and a mathematician, writer and was most famous for her work on Cabbage's mechanical computer. Ada is also considered to be the first computer programmer, she discovered that a computer was able to follow a sequence of simple instructions to complete intricate calculations.
  • Alan Turing

    Alan Turing
    Most famous for the big part he played in the cracking of the Enigma code, which resulted in WWII being shortened by up to 4 years, therefore saving millions of lives. He did this while working at Bletchley Park. Turing was also a mathematician, logistician and a philosopher, as well as he introduced the world to computer science.
  • Colossus Computer

    Colossus Computer
    The Colossus was the first "real computer" and it was invented by an engineer named Tommy Flowers. The new group of computers(Colossus) was much faster than its predecessor, the Robinson, and because it was electronic, programmable and digital it's seen as the first "real" computer. The computers had almost 2,000 electronic valves/vacuum tubes to use Boolean Algebra and other counting methods. The Colossus was used at Bletchley Park from early 1944 to the end of WWII.

    Bill Gates is a software developer, technologist, philanthropist and businessman. As the co-founder of Microsoft Corporation he has played a big part in modern day discoveries concerning computing and coding. Microsoft is now one of the worlds largest software creating company, this in turn has made him into one of the richest men in the world.
